silly memories

Today when I was putting on my perfume it made me think about something that happened at Taco Bell and that made me remember where I bought my favorite perfume the first time I bought it which in turn reminded me of why I absolutely hate going into Claire's. You all know the cute little store in the mall.

After the first time I went to a mall that I can remember (there are only 3 in Wyoming, all several hours from my home)I was in love with Claire's.

High School came and I was so excited to go on the trip to Washington D.C. the spring of my Senior year. I worked hard to keep my grades up so I could be in the special senior government classes so I could go on this trip.

I get to D.C. we had a free afternoon and we (my cousin's girlfriend from Italy and I)headed off to one of the malls. We were in Claire's for about 15 minutes when one of the employees came up to me and told me she had seen me put some earrings in the small pocket of my backpack and she needed me to show her what was in that pocket.

Knowing that all that was in that pocket was my wallet, camera and the bag with my new perfume from The Body Shoppe, I opened that pocket and emptied it for her and asked if she needed to see the contents of the other 2 pockets.

Once she was satisfied I took the 3 necklaces and 2 hair ties that I was planning on buying and put them back where they belonged. Then walked around the store for 10 more minutes while Eva decided what she was going to purchase.

After we left Eva wanted to know why I had decided not to get anything. When I explained what happened she freaked out and told me I shouldn't have let her buy the things that she had bought from them.

Since that day I refuse to spend money there, which is rather sad because I used to have to buy a hair tie and some earrings in every Claire's that I went in to.

I guess that woman's behavior toward me broke me of a silly habit.
