The tree is gone
Mercury goes retrograde tomorrow afternoon, sowing seeds of confusion and
inconvenience until October 6th. Moreover, complex and chunky astrological
influences regarding household, work, creativity and justifying your existence
are in play, so there may be a little turbulence ahead. Kindly return to your
seat and buckle up until the captain has turned off the "fasten seatbelt" sign. I feel like this often enough, I really don't need my crappy horoscope pointing it out with actual writen words. I think the park maintenance guys heard my Internet threats. Yesterday morning at 9:30, they showed up with the chain saw and disturbed probably the most peaceful sleep that I have gotten in the last few months. They didn't have a rake so all the leaves that have been falling off the dying tree were left in our yard. They didn't have a shovel or a way to dig out the tree stump so they just cut it off as close to the ground as they could. When the park manager finally showed up at our house two weeks after he said he would be there, he told Jennifer that we either have to take the fence all the way down or we have to move the front portion back like a bunch of feet. Maybe 15-20 feet. Not that big of a deal really I wanted to move it back a little bit so we had more room to park in the driveway. So I have blisters on both of my thumbs from raking leaves and mowing the yard. I wanted to take all the damn leaves and scatter them all over the park manager's lot. Jennifer said he doesn't even live there, he lives downtown some where. I feel that we shouldn't have had to clean up that mess. If he had gotten the people in Fargo up here when he said they would the first time every darn one of those leaves would have went out on the brach it came from, instead of waiting for the tree to die and loose all the leaves in our yard. Our yard looks half way decent again. We tore down the front part of the fence last night. Johnny made me feel like poop, like always. Every activity Jennifer and I started to do, he had to come over and push us out of the way and take over. There was a little dying tree right on the edge of the driveway. An off shoot of the roots of the tree that had to be pushed over, it wasn't very healthy looking when we moved in and after the other tree was pushed over it started looking worse. Jenn and I decided we were going to get rid of it. We cut all the little branches off and then tried breaking it off at the base. I am sure it was a pretty funny sight to see Jennifer and I standing on a little branchless tree bouncing up and down tring to get it to snap. Johnny told us to get out of the way so he could do it. Jennifer goes over to try to wiggle one of the fence posts out of the ground. Johnny tells her to get out of the way so he can do it. When I started mowing the yard I was surprised that he didn't come and take the lawn mower away from me because that is supposed to be his job. Which he hasn't done for over a month because the last time he did it he thought the lawn mower was getting low on gas. And he couldn't spend $3 to go fill the little gas can that we have. They kept telling me they didn't think I would get the whole yard done because it was low on gas. If I can drive my car for 10 extra miles, I can get a lawn mower to mow a yard. Don't waste time standing in the same spot for 10 minutes, that will help right? He just made me feel like poop because, he feels that because we are girls we should not be allowed to do stuff like that. Come on. I grew up with nothing but guys for friends. I'm not as fragile as one might think. Jennifer worked construction for two summers. I think we can handle a little bit of fence destruction in a manner that doesn't actually destroy the fence or the wood. Johnny just went after it all with the hammer. To him it was coming down we couldn't have possibly wanted to save any of the lumber for some other project. He treats everything like that. The stupid chair that Jennifer had to shove in my car to take from the garbage at her old apartment, ate my car keys last week. What did Johnny do ripped off the bottom cover hiding the springs and the underside of the chair to look for them. True we may not have paid for that chair and we most likely aren't planning on keeping it forever. But that is the only furniture we have right now, Can we not try to destroy it anymore? When Jennifer bought particle board furniture to use in her bedroom, Johnny just slapped it all together not caring how much damage he did to the exterior of it. It is just cheap Wal-Mart furniture it doesn't have to look pretty. But when Wal-Mart furniture is all that you can afford, you don't want to have to replace it after a year. Jennifer and I were raised to take care of our belongings so they would last for a long time, no matter how much they originally cost. Johnny has never wanted for anything in his life. His dad made his bedframe, desk and dresser, he has always had nice things so he doesn't see the value of the things that Jennifer and I have managed to buy to use in this house. That is the thing that bothers me the absolute most about him being there. Because we haven't paid more than $30 for anything but the kitchen table he can just trash it all.
