Letter from Home
My papa is so cute. His birthday was on the 17th. Of course I mailed him a birhtday card. Today I got a letter from him. It brightened my day. I love him so dearly. This is how he started his letter: "Thank you for your card to Grumpy Gramp, PaPa, Paul Revere or which ever he happens to be on this day." He comes up with some of the silliest stuff when he writes me letters. They are always typed with his trust old type writer. On the 14th Lander recieved a nice hail storm. In less than 20 minutes our four lane + turning lane Main Street was 3 inches deep in hail and water was soon curb to curb. It was very needed, the summer had been all to dry. My dad and uncle had to fight the water coming under the gargare door at the shop. By the time the storm ended (30 minutes after the storm started) half of the shop floor was covered in water. After I read that part of the letter I remembered my mom telling me something about the storm. But she was on her cell phone and the signal sucks big time. So all I heard was about a storm and a garage. I thought she was talking about our neighbors, because that garage floods everytime it rains. I almost started to cry when I read the paragraph after the one about the storm. "Very often, my thoughts stray back to the days when our now absent granddaughter spent many days and nights with us and brought sunshine to our lives. Many grand parents have not been as fortunate." I wanna go home and see my family. I've only been gone for a little over a month, but it seems like forever. My grandma's brother and his wife came to visit them from Kansas I think, I am not really sure where they are from. I probably haven't seen them since I was 4 years old when I went to Okalahoma to my great grandmother's funeral. While they were in Wyoming they took grandma and papa up to Thermopolis and spent the day at the museum. When they say the dinosaurs. Papa said this: "I told her (his sister-in-law) if you stopped to reason it out, it was easy to figure out they (the dinosaurs) did not die out from the ice age or a metor that cooked them, but it was king sized tooth aches and belly aches. My attempt at humour fell flat. Man, you are really weird, she says." He told me that a ministry in Texas has offered their minister an opportunity that they can't afford to turn down again, due to their health. So Yogi (that is what we used to call him when we went to church with my grandparents) and Lucy are headed to Texas. I wonder what will happen of the old church? The end of his letter says this about Nathan: "I want to say Nathan seems to be a nice, well-mannered young man, and a quiet one too. I much prefer the quiet ones who know they don't know it all and act accordingly." Papa didn't like my ex at all. He (Justin) didn't shut up, and thought he knew everything, when he didn't know crap. Papa is a good judge of character, a person can't live through so much and not learn how to read a person. I love getting mail, especially when it isn't bills.
