22 December 2002
22 December 2002 This was a very boring day, but it was just about the only day that my family spent it together with out anyone else being around. I ran errands for my mom. Then Dad Jennifer and I drove over to Riverton to see The Two Towers and it was sold out. The theatres have gotten into this terrible habit of pre-selling tickets. Not that the concept is a bad one but they need a way to keep track of it instead of making a hundred people stand outside in below zero temps for an hour so they can let in the first 15 people in line. If they plan on running the theaters like this they need to invest in a system like the Carmike Cinemas have. They know exactly when the show is sold out so people aren’t standing around freezing to death waiting to buy tickets. In other home town theater news (this will only be of interest to people who have attended movies at the Grand, Gem or Acme theatres in Lander or Riverton.) They are turning the Acme into a multiplex (I’m not sure how many screens) and they are going to open up the balconies again. They will be putting those loveseats in the balconies, raising the ticket prices and only allowing people over 21 into the balcony. They are also contemplating getting a liquor license so they can serve wine to the people in the balcony. It will be interesting to see what happens when they get all the work finished.
